World Accreditation Day 2024

9 June 2024 marks World Accreditation Day (WAD), a global initiative established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to highlight the value of accreditation. This year's theme is Accreditation: Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future.

The theme highlights how accreditation can have a positive impact on various challenges and opportunities that the global economy is facing, ranging from digitalisation and new technologies to sustainability.

IAF and ILAC have produced a dedicated WAD 2024 video highlighting how accreditation helps support the theme. You may view it on the IAF/ILAC YouTube channel or by scanning the following QR code.

IAF and ILAC will also be holding an online event at two time zones on Monday, 10 June 2024. Speakers including the IAF and ILAC Chairs, the ISO/CASCO Chair and a WADA representative, will discuss the role that accreditation can play in our daily life. Topics range from technology to transportation, sustainability to security, and inclusivity to innovation, as digitalisation, new technologies and growing sustainability concerns continue to change our world.
