About PSRC

PSRC maintains a repository of standards for public reference. These standards are published by the following bodies:

  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
  • British Standards Institution (BSI)
  • Standardization Administration of the P.R.C (SAC)
  • ASTM International (ASTM)
  • Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN)
  • Standards Australia (SA)
  • Japanese Standards Association (JSA)

All standard documents and related publications are copyright reference materials not available for on loan nor photocopying, they are for on premises reading only. Visitors can make notes for their own reference. A dedicated computer setup is available for accessing online resources for local and overseas technical regulations (TRs), standards, guides and code of practices (CoPs).

No prior appointment is needed for visiting the PSRC. To serve you better, please contact us first and let us check for the availability of the item(s) you are interested.

Technical Enquiry Service

PSIB offers free technical enquiry service on product standards and safety requirements. The service aims to assist public to be aware of product standards and safety requirements, and to assist them in identifying applicable standards and requirements for compliance, in particular toys and children's products and consumer goods, on best effort basis. Where the enquiries involve other areas or in-depth technical expertise, they would be referred to the relevant bodies for replies.

Where can I find Standards for On-line Reading

There are various legitimate resources for reading standards on-line. Some standards are available for public access in support of standardisation, i.e. development of standards. Others are made available because of their inclusion in technical regulations. Please familiar yourself with the terms & conditions and copyrights for proper use of standards.

World Standards Day is on 14 October each year. ISO, IEC and ITU members come together to celebrate with special meaning of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of experts worldwide who help develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.
