AC-DC Transfer Instruments

AC-DC transfer instruments will be calibrated by comparison with the Laboratory standards, which cover the range 0.25 V to 1000 V and 40 Hz to 1 MHz.

AC-DC Current Transfer Instruments

At power and audio frequencies, AC current measurements at highest accuracy are made using AC/DC current transfer instruments, of known AC/DC current differences. SCL has set up calibration facilities for AC/DC transfer instruments. The current measurement range is from 5 mA to 20 A at frequency between 40 Hz to 10 kHz.

Current Transformer

Current Transformers (CTs) will be calibrated by comparison with the Laboratory's reference CT, normally at frequency from 45 Hz to 60 Hz with an input test current from 1 A to 100 A.

The calibration normally involves measurement of current error and phase error of the CT.
