Calibration Services

The Laboratory offers calibration services for 3-phase power and energy meters at frequencies from 45 Hz to 65 Hz.

The active, reactive and apparent power / energy functions of the meters are calibrated at voltage from 24 V to 480 V and current from 0.1 A to 160 A.

 

The Laboratory offers calibration services for single-phase power and energy meters / wattmeters at frequencies from 45 Hz to 65 Hz.

The active, reactive and apparent power / energy functions of the meters are calibrated at voltage from 24 V to 480 V and current from 0.1 A to 160 A.

Calibration service for single-phase power and energy meters /wattmeters at fixed frequency 400 Hz is also available in the power factor range of unity to 0.5 leading or lagging. The theoretical power measuring range is 37.5W to 6kW and the maximum test voltage and current are respectively 300 V and 20 A.

Basic calibration of a power and energy meter / wattmeter will include tests at rated voltage and frequency with 5 different current settings on the current range (unity power factor). For multi-range power and energy meters / wattmeters, additional measurements will be made for all combinations of rated voltage and current ranges.

 

The Laboratory can provide calibration for 50 Hz or 60 Hz single-phase power factor meters with measuring range from zero to unity, leading or lagging.

Calibration will be made by applying appropriate sinusoidal voltage and current signals with known phase relationship to the meter under test. The ranges of test voltages and currents are 25 V to 250 V and 50 mA to 100 A respectively.

 

The Laboratory offers calibration for flicker meters and flicker sources.

The short term and long term flicker measurement function of the meters are calibrated according to the International Standard IEC 61000-3-3. The test voltage will be 230 V, 50 Hz, modulation depth from 0.001% to 60% and duty cycle from 0.01% to 99.99%.

The calibration service for flicker sources includes the measurements of the voltage change and the modulating frequency. Calibration will cover modulating frequency from 5 Hz to 25 Hz, modulation depth from 0.001% to 60% and duty cycle from 0.01% to 99.99%.
