Photometry and Radiometry: Light Meter

Illuminance Meter / Lux Meter

The laboratory photometric calibration system The laboratory photometric calibration system

Illuminance is defined as incident luminous flux per unit area, which is equal to lumens per meter-square, or the lux (lx).

SCL can provide calibration services for illuminance measuring equipment (e.g. illuminance meter, lux meter, and light meter) from 1 lx to 3000 lx at correlated color temperature of 2856 K.

The calibration system comprises of a 6 m photometric bench, a reference photometer, a reference colorimeter, standard light sources and a precision distance measuring system.

Illuminance meter under test is calibrated against the laboratory's reference photometer with calibration and measurement capability (CMC) of 1.5%.

Luminance Meter

The luminance meter calibration system The luminance meter calibration system

Luminance is the ratio of the amount of luminous flux per unit solid angle, to the projected area of the source element at a particular direction. The unit of luminance is cd/m2.

SCL can provide calibration services for luminance meter from 10 cd/m2 to 4000 cd/m2 at correlated color temperature of 2856 K.

The calibration system comprises of a 3 m photometric bench, a reference photometer, a reference colorimeter and a 12-inch integrating sphere type uniform luminance source with a precision aperture.

Luminance meter under test is calibrated against the laboratory's reference standards with CMC of 1.5%.
