The world's most prestigious innovation exhibition, the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, which is arranged under the patronage of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of the Swiss Government and City of Geneva is showcasing innovations and inventions from around the globe, from March 29 through April 2.
With 700 exhibitors from 40 countries, featuring 1,000 new innovations and inventions, the annual International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is a major global event dedicated to innovation and to new products. It also serves as a platform for inventors and their potential buyers from organisations worldwide to communicate and exchange their ideas, including means for commercialisation.
At the event, the innovations can also be graded by an international jury of 85 experts for different awards standing as labels for quality. Last year, several innovations from Hong Kong received awards. The Grand Prix of the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, for example, was awarded to an exhibitor from The Hong Kong Baptist University, Professor Kok-wai Cheah, with his company Cathay Photonics, for his process to reinforce glass surfaces by applying a thin layer of sapphire to the screen to be protected.
The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) won three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals at the same event, and HKRITA will be also participating again this year with another brand new innovation.
