The annual Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) is already underway. Several advisors from local universities were invited to share their insights into scientific research at the Sharing Sessions with Advisors held at the Hong Kong Science Museum on January 24, 2019. Students were provided with valuable advice and guidance on the aspect of research and development and were guided to overcome the challenges they might encounter when preparing their projects.
This year, the Initial Judging cum Project Exhibition will be held on March 23, 2019 at the Hong Kong Science Park. Under the theme of “From Theory to practice ‧ Develop Science Potential”, students will demonstrate their understanding of scientific knowledge in their investigation or invention projects which are practical and applicable in real-life. Overseas participants are also welcome to join the international division.
Jointly organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Science Museum, and supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, this Competition has been one of the instrumental programmes for cultivating the culture of innovation and technology in Hong Kong since 1998. It aims at nurturing the interest of our youth in science and technology, encouraging real-time application through better understanding of scientific knowledge, and inspiring their career aspirations in the science and technology industry.
