Standards and Calibration Laboratory sets up new calibration services in differential pressure
Standards and Calibration Laboratory (SCL) has provided new calibration services in differential pressure to boost the development of testing and certification industry in Hong Kong. Differential pressure is applied in domestic and industrial situations. Positive differential pressure is applied in pharmaceutical research and manufacturing laboratories while negative differential pressure is applied in virus identification testing facilities to prevent cross-contaminations.
In December 2017, the new calibration services including differential pressure measurement equipment calibration and on-site differential pressure measurements were successfully assessed by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) with overseas peer reviewer Ms Kitty Fen, Experimental Scientist of the National Measurement Institute Australia (NMIA).
The new calibration services ensure the traceability of differential pressure measurement equipment to the SI units ranging from 4 to 6,000 Pa. For more information about these calibration services provided by the SCL, please visit the SCL's website at
